What is Second Muster?

Second Muster is a circular country clothing marketplace, giving pre-loved bushwear a fresh lease on life.

We source and resell quality second-hand gear from trusted brands — think R.M. Williams, Wrangler, RB Sellars, Ariat and more. Our aim? To keep good threads in the saddle and out of landfill.

This isn’t fast fashion. It’s slow, rugged, and built to last. Whether you’re buying or selling, you’re helping reduce waste, support sustainable fashion, and keep classic kit out in the wild where it belongs.

How it Works:

Twice per year (Spring & Autumn), we have an intake of new threads.

1. Clean Out Your Closet

Got country gear collecting dust? If it’s clean, in good nick, and has a bit of mileage left, we’d love to give it a second muster.

2. Fill Out the Online Form

Let us know what you’re sending in. Upload photos, list brand, size, condition and we’ll assess whether we’re keen to take it on.

3. Send it Our Way

If accepted, you’ll receive a link to purchase a Clothing Kit (includes prepaid postage + item form). We refund your postage if your items are accepted for sale. Easy.

4. Get an Offer

Once your items arrive and are reviewed, we’ll email you an offer. You can:
✔️ Accept the offer and get paid
❌ Decline and have items returned (return shipping at your cost)
💚 Donate unsold goods to a charity partner

What I Pay for Items

Second Muster isn’t about flipping clothes for big profits; it’s about giving good quality country gear a second life and making it accessible and affordable.

Because of that, I don’t buy at Marketplace or Depop prices.

Every item I take on requires time and costs behind the scenes, including sorting, measuring, ironing, photographing, listing on the website, platform fees, packaging and post office runs.

As a general guide, I pay around 20–40% of what I expect the item to sell for, depending on the brand, condition, and demand.

Think along the lines of op shop (Vinnies-style) pricing but with a curated, quality focus.

This model allows me to keep stock moving, keep prices fair for buyers and ultimately get more great gear back out there being worn and enjoyed.

What We Take

We’re after authentic, good quality rural and country-style clothing from reputable Aussie and Western brands — must be:

• Gently worn or excellent condition
• Clean, smoke-free and undamaged
• Ready to wear again (we don’t do repairs)

We’re especially looking for:

• R.M. Williams, Wrangler, RB Sellars, Thomas Cook, Ariat, Akubra (apparel), Kimes, Driza-Bone, etc.
• Dresses, jackets, work shirts, dress shirts, vests, jeans

We don’t currently accept:

• Boots, hats, underwear, swimwear or heavily worn gear
• Unbranded fast fashion
